Not all granola is created equal. Time and time again, granola is cited as one of those foods that seems healthy, but it's actually not that great for you. A cup of standard store-bought granola has over 400 calories per cup, 20 grams of sugar, and 15 grams of fat. However, granola can be healthy and does have a ton of redeeming qualities. The oats and dried fruits in granola are full of fiber and iron and the nuts and seeds deliver a good amount of unsaturated fats and protein. When you're deciding which granola to buy, make sure to check the fat, calorie and sugar content, but also scan the ingredient list for sneaky ingredients that probably don't need to be there. A good rule of thumb is that if you can't pronounce it, or need a dictionary, you probably don't need it in your body.

The grainless granola is free of refined and artificial sweeteners, preservatives, and gluten and it truly melts in your mouth at first bite. When I first read this on the package, I was suspicious because usually snacks that have so few ingredients are unappealing and tasteless. However, this is not the case for Krave the Krunch, which comes in three deliciou flavors: Caribbean Coconut, Choco-Nuts, and Maple Cinnamon. Each flavor has around 100 calories, 4 grams of sugar, 2 grams of protein and 2 grams of fiber per 1/4 cup.
Caribbean Coconut is fresh and light, perfect on its own or paired with yogurt for a morning or afternoon snack. Choco-Nuts is a bit nuttier and sweeter and is perfect for a post-workout snack or even an after dinner dessert. Lastly, there is Maple Cinnamon, my personal favorite. Out of the three, it is the sweetest and definitely reminds me of homemade granola. I find myself eating it throughout the day, and it always hits the spot.
