Why I’m Running 26.2 Miles

While preparing for my first marathon, I am frequently asked why I would EVER want to even run 26.2 miles. I immediately respond that I am running with Team ALS, to support those who suffer from Lou Gehrig’s disease and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and ultimately  cure. With the Chicago Marathon right around the corner, I have been taking the time to dig deep on my long training runs, which has given me the perfect opportunity to reflect on why I am so determined to cross the finish line in Chicago on October 9th.
