Why I Workout

I workout for me. I workout to empower my mind, my body, my soul.

Everyone has those days where they feel like everything is going wrong and nothing can pull them out of the slump they feel so deeply embedded in. Whether it’s a bad grade, a bad day at work, or simply just waking up on the wrong side of the bed, nothing fixes me like a solid workout. Personally, going for a run is the best solution for me. Throwing on my headphones and sneakers, and looking straight ahead is just what I need to put a smile on my face. I feel empowered, strong, revived. I feel like I can conquer whatever life will throw at me. My heart is pumping and I feel unbreakable.

Working out is about personal goals. When I have those headphones on, it’s just me, myself, and I. My mind pushes me to be better, to be stronger, to go further than the last time. I don’t do it to look good, I do it to feel good. Working out heals the mind. When I feel like everything in my life is out of my control, I remember that there is one thing I can always control: my mind. Working out gets those endorphins flowing, and from there the positive thoughts flood my brain. A solid workout sets the tone for the rest of my day.

When you decide to go for a workout, whether it’s spinning, running, swimming, walking, do it for you. Because, in the end, you can’t control life, but you can control how you feel when you conquer it.
